Make Nizlopi - JCB Song Xmas No.1
Friday 23rd Dec 2005 - Posted By: Ste Riley at 08:05PM
I've just taken notice of the current UK Charts number 1, Nizlopi - JCB Song. I really hope it makes number 1 for Christmas, its a great little tune.
Can't decide if its a serious attempt at a song though or a comedy tune... check out the video for it too if you get chance, its ace.
Besides that, feeling a little hungover from last nights Christmas party. Turned up to be a little mediocre, the free bar ran out far to early and the music wasn't much cop. Still managed to get pretty drunk though, that's what its all about!
Xbox Sold
Wednesday 21st Dec 2005 - Posted By: Ste Riley at 09:03PM
I've sold my original Xbox on eBay for £150 with 24 games and 5 pads. I put it up for auction about a week ago with no reserve but it didn't sell. So I ended up putting it up as Buy It Now with a chance to give a best offer on Monday, and it sold within 24 hours.
Well I guess someone saw it as a bargain offer and it pays me for the new 5.1 system I just bought. I was a bit miffed that PayPal had nearly £6 off me though for handling fee's!
Christmas party tomorrow, can't wait, should be good, bought a new Full Circle shirt and some bling cough links for it, so I'll be looking fair smart. Still beats going in Bond costume I think. Off to Yum Yum's at lunch to get a good lining on the stomach. Get ready body, for some abuse!
Learning Something New

I've bought my next bit of reading material from Amazon this week, Head First Servlets and JSP. It's time to get to grips with JSP now I think and get ready for using it next year at work. That is unless we decide to go ahead and start using XML templates instead of JSP.
It'll be handy to get some foundation knowledge about JSP all the same though and should come in as a handy skill all the same at work.
It's the Christmas party on Thursday, should be a good laugh, James Bond fancy dress themed. I planning on going as an extra from Living Day Lights, can't go wrong with that can you. Planning on doing the top 5 pubs we've visited this year before the actual party starts with the guys from the office, so will probably be well on my way before the real do starts!
It still don't feel like Christmas to me at all yet though... someone's stolen it from me.
On another note... check out my Xbox Live Gamerscore, already its passed 1000. Oh how sad I have become. PGR3 is the game!
Spending The Pennies
Saturday 10th Dec 2005 - Posted By: Ste Riley at 09:10PM
Well I've spent up on my Christmas bonus already by buying a new TV, Media Centre and 5.1 sound system. Funnily enough I've taken the odd route of not buying from the internet and actually buying from the high street who seemed to be offering the better deal for a change!
The TV and Media Centre are coming from PC World of all places, the Samsung LE26R41BD with an Advent Media Centre setting me back just £1399 which I thought was a bargain since the Media Centre was on equal spec but cheaper to the nice model at Alienware. The only catch being I have to wait up to 6 weeks to for the thing to turn up now! Sad.
I've also bought in a Samsung 5.1 system that bangs out 500W of noise, plenty loud enough for our poxy little front room. Just hope the TV turns up in double quick time now.
Also went down to Old Trafford today to see the piss poor performance again Everton.
Only One George Best
Saturday 3rd Dec 2005 - Posted By: Ste Riley at 07:50PM
I'm writing this backdated entry 4 months to the day since I went to watch Manchester United (3) v Portsmouth (0). What was a blistering cold late Saturday night kick off, a lot of attention had been focused on United first home game since the death of the legendary George Best.
Outside the stadium a carpet of flowers and shirts covered the ground nearest to the West stand. The photos I took once again do no justice to the size of the tributes left. The atmosphere was sombre as people paid their respects.
I never saw the man play football but you hear the stories and I've seen a lot of old footage on the TV since his death. A true football great was remembered before kick off with a minutes applause.
Xbox Is Here

Finally I got my dirty hands all over the Xbox 360, after all that waiting its sat under the telly waiting to be played.
I went to the pub Thursday night with Ric till about 11:30PM then headed towards the Arndale to join the queue of geeks. I was surprised about the amount of people already there, on counting we was 69th in line. Another 20 or so joined behind us come midnight, when the doors flew open and they let us trail in.
I've taken some photos from outside GAME but my gallery is broken at the moment and I can't be bothered fixing it. My Premium kit was waiting for me behind the counter though after 20 minutes waiting in line inside the store. The box weighed a ton but we managed to hump it to the taxi rank and bundle it home before 2AM.
After a frantic box opening and a quick bit of handy work with the cables I got on to playing PGR3 which looks great. Although I can see that things will probably benefit once I have a HD-TV. No problems at all to report on, the thing is a dream.
