Lights on nobody home

Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, all day's of work for me this week! Although it turns out I was one of very few who'd not booked this time off from work so the office has been completely dead.

I have to work on New Years Eve as well which is a bit of a stinker and it's not a half day either like Christmas Eve was. Which by the way I didn't get chance to go out that night because I was full of a cold.

Xmas Party III

Tuesday 21st Dec 2004 - Posted By: Ste Riley at 06:30PM

The final night out till Christmas Eve, it should have been the climax of a heady couple of weeks but sadly it became a bit of a washout. I was heading home on the late night bus with only broken dreams of what could have been the icing on the cake.

It was the MMC Christmas party and I was invited along so I thought I'd be social and show my mug. We went along to The Sweet Mandarin located in a seedy backstreet of Manchester's Northern Quarter. The food and surroundings was top class and everyone enjoyed their food.

However after the meal no one was up for some serious drinking and all headed for home, leaving me to head back for a couple of cans to quash the beer cravings I've recently developed.

Billy's Birthday

Monday 20th Dec 2004 - Posted By: Ste Riley at 12:20PM

Another day another beer, after yesterdays depressing balls up we hit the town for Will's birthday.

Too many strong lagers from Sinclairs Oyster Bar and we was heading for home earlier than expected. We slumped in a local till closing time then around to Will's for another beer.

Left about 2am since I didnt realise what time it was, I need to look at my watch more.

Dave Spikey Who?

Sunday 19th Dec 2004 - Posted By: Ste Riley at 10:37PM

Today's the day we was meant to be going to see Dave Spikey, the old chap with white hair from Phoenix Knights. We had the tickets ready, we'd talked about it for weeks and today was the day.

Or was it; it turns out today was the day last Sunday. The tickets had 12th December on them! We'd only gone and bloody missed the show by a whole week.

That put a dampener on things, so we went and drowned our sorrows in Oldham. Another night on the lash, can't complain.

Oops I Did It Again!

Friday 17th Dec 2004 - Posted By: Ste Riley at 12:49PM

I'm still planning to post them photos up when I'm sober. Was the team works party last night so I got mashed again. Ended up getting back to my house at 4AM this morning, because of the bloody taxi's!

Had to walk half way home from Manchester and finally managed to get a taxi who was filling up at a petrol station. Was a good night in Sub Space though, they had cheesy 80's classics on, my favorite, left their at 2AM

Now I'm back in work, all be it I did get in 50 minutes late, but everyone was fine about that. I need some sleep!

Day 4: Xmas Party I

Tuesday 14th Dec 2004 - Posted By: Ste Riley at 09:14PM

I had originally tried to book today off from work so that we could go out again for Russell's birthday. However I have to attend the Marketing Conference today for work :(

Table 8 with a bunch of strangers for the whole day while I was feeling as rough as old boots is not my idea of fun. The only thing that kept me going was the thought of the free booze at the Christmas party later on.

Needless to say once the conference finished, I headed over to the pub and got a couple of quick pints down my neck before heading to the Xmas do. Then got trashed on free booze, last thing I remember was being woke up by a bouncer in Revolution in Deansgates Locks. The shame!

Day 3: Liverpool

Monday 13th Dec 2004 - Posted By: Ste Riley at 03:03PM

Day 3: Liverpool

Third day on the devils brew today and everyone was starting to feel it, only myself and Will had managed to make it out of the house. You can tell from my goofy photo I'm not totally with it. We decided on a change of scenery from Manchester so headed over to Liverpool for the day.

Started off in a nice bar called the Office then went up some backstreets in search of some dirty boozers, what you might call a real pub. Plenty of nice ladies in Liverpool, shame about the accent, I'll return here one day for a proper night out!

Alright alright calm down.

Day 2: Blackpool (again)

Sunday 12th Dec 2004 - Posted By: Ste Riley at 12:30PM

Day 2: Blackpool (again)

Last night seemed to alright from what I can remember, nothing special but a good night out all the same. We manage to get out of the B&B for about 11ish totally missing breakfast and head to the nearest greasy spoon for a real breakfast.

Spent a bit of time in the arcades this morning to use up the mass amounts of change we had left over from yesterday. Then went to NTK to watch the Arsenal v Chelsea match, which wasn't a bad game at all.

After that headed back to Manchester where it all got a little daft after 1 to many double vodka and Red Bull's in the train station Yates.

Day 1: Back In Black'

Saturday 11th Dec 2004 - Posted By: Ste Riley at 12:55PM

Day 1: Back In Black'

This is the start of something big, I have a busy social schedule booked up from now on till Christmas. It all starts here today with a fun packed weekend in Blackpool. Time to prepare the old liver for some serious alcohol abuse.

We'd come down for this David Morales at The Syndicate Superclub. Before all that though we might as well make the best of Blackpools facilities and get a wee bit drunk before dancing into the wee hours.

Celeb Surveillance

Friday 3rd Dec 2004 - Posted By: Ste Riley at 12:45PM

I was walking through the Arndale at lunchtime this afternoon and spotted Anne Kirkbride walking past me, better known to millions as Deidre Barlow/Rachid from Coronation Street. That was the highlight of another busy day in work.

In unrelated news I found this site of lovely Lucy: Lucy Pinder *drool*

Man Utd 1 Arsenal 0

Wednesday 1st Dec 2004 - Posted By: Ste Riley at 10:17PM

Man Utd 1 Arsenal 0

David Bellion scores against a no mark Arsenal bunch in 18 seconds and where was I? Trying to get a bloody pie because I got to the stadium a couple of minutes to late!

Dammit, the only goal of the game and I happen to miss it, what's that all about, don't you just hate that. As we got to the stadium we could hear the team being read out, so kick off was imminent. I was hungry as I'd had no tea and decided to get a pie before I got to my seat rather than wait till half time. As I went to queue up all we heard was the roar of the crowd. We ran to our seats but was way too late and that was that.

United face Chelsea in the next round, should be a corker, after the match we retreated again to Bar Rogue for a couple of swift ones before a kebab and home.
