Half Life 2 Will Steal My Life!
Wednesday 24th Nov 2004 - Posted By: Ste Riley at 07:08PM
Started playing Half Life 2 tonight and I'm surprised to say it works a treat on my PC. Although I can feel the addiction of this game creeping in already, It's a Halo 2 beater for sure.
The gameplay grips you in this amazing adventure from the get go, can't wait to play my way through this one. I can see its going to take over my life and cause a couple of late nights in the coming couple of weeks. Call me Gordon.
Keep an eye on how I'm performing in Halo 2 online here.

Not a bad night out tonight, United sailed into the final stages of the Champions League with Ferguson in charge for his 1000th game. I'd managed to get my hands on some tickets again and headed down to Old Trafford with Will to catch the match.
Gary Neville of all people opened up the account with what looked like a scrappy goal from all the way down the pitch. However I got to clearly see the balls up Carroll made of a direct shot as it bounced out of his hands and into the net. Rudd scored the winner in the 53rd minute with a nice header set up by Ferdinand.
Stopped off at Bar Rogue for a couple of drinks before heading home for a frozen pizza, since I'd had no tea and then off to bed.
The Vault

As promised these are the first pictures I've taken from inside the Co-operative Bank vault where I now work. The offices are obviously no longer a vault because we all work in there, but was converted about 6 months ago into this nice new work area. The pictures I've taken are from my eye level so you can't see across the office to well, I'll try to take some photos from a better position in the future.
Spent all of today on the Xbox playing Ghost Recon 2, it seems to be a very decent game indeed and I'm looking forward to playing this baby online now! Just found out I've got tickets for the Man United v Arsenal game in a couple of weeks to, so that should be a decent night out.
Also got another tripped planned for Blackpool! December is going to be fun all the way to Christmas. Woohoo

Pant's! Complete pant's... did anyone else hear this new version on the radio this morning? It stinks, especially the part where Dizzy Rascal starts to give a rap over the top, whats that all about!
Shame on you Bob Geldof, you've lost your sense of a good tune, maybe that's why you quit the Boomtown Rats. It's still going to be number one this tune though, so we'll have to get used to it.
Anyway I found this amusing this morning: Harddisk Tuning with Lego
End of the first week
Friday 12th Nov 2004 - Posted By: Ste Riley at 08:11PM
My first week at CFS has just come to an end and it's been alright so far. Today was the first day I've been give some proper work and left to it. So far it's just working with the Content Management System and using that to update the CIS, Co-Operative Bank and Smile web sites.
Everyone I work with in the team seem fairly cool so far it consists of about 6 in the web team which I am part of. Then another 6 who provide the content for the sites. Looking forward to the next couple of weeks, get training on the CMS 2 days a week so plenty to learn.

Halo 2 finally arrived yesterday but I didn't get much chance to play on it. Tonight I managed to get a good go on it though and it seems like the dogs bollocks!
Not thought much of the single player side that's been a let down, completed it in about 5 hours on normal hardness level. The multiplayer side of the game seems to be where its at though. Roll on the weekend, this games going to get hammered!
If you fancy challenging me online my gamertag is: Ste Riley (original I know)

First day at the new job today, or at least it should have been! Turned up a little late and had to wait for quite a while till I was told that there had been a mix up in dates and that I should be starting work tomorrow. Thankfully it wasn't my fault I was informed on my induction letter it'd be today, but unfortunately not, so tomorrow will be the start day after all. I was sent home and had the day off with full pay, so it can't be bad can it... see what tomorrow brings.
shop till your broke

Hit the shops in town today for some new gear for work... surprise of the day, I can now fit in 32" waist trousers. I knew I'd get there in the end! Shame I only found out after I'd already bought 2 pairs of jeans at Henri Lloyd's, I think the fits still ok in them though.
My weight now stands at 171lbs from 202lbs in January that's 31lbs I've dropped this year so far, going from 36" waist to 32"... not bad for a bit of running after work.
Anyway I think I overspent a little bit while out shopping because I needed my card authorising by the bank at two different shops, so it appears I've made a large dent in my account. Least I'll look the part come Monday though!
Farewell MMC
Friday 5th Nov 2004 - Posted By: Ste Riley at 04:00PM
Today was my last working day for Multimedia Marketing.Com, I've been working with them for 2 years, one year on placement while in uni and a further year once I'd graduated. It was a fairly low key exit, hardly no one was in to see me off, I was released early at 4 and out of the door never to return. My final months like most others was mostly spent working on Flash developments, the best part of the year has been concentrated on producing Arabic tutorials which have been a pain in the ass. MMC will be remembered as the place where my career started I guess, lets see where it takes me.
I start my new job on the other side of town at CFS come Monday, got some serious shopping to do this weekend to sort myself out with some new clobber.
Goodbye Big Sis
Thursday 4th Nov 2004 - Posted By: Ste Riley at 09:38PM
Today was a sad day without a doubt; it was my last working day with my much loved friend and big sis Kully. I leave MMC tomorrow and K has gone home to Wolverhampton, so I'll be all alone come Friday my departing day :0( I've created a small photo tribute.
It's been a fantastic time working with you sis, you've been the finest company I could have hoped for and we?ve had many good times together. We?ve made it through a tough year together at work and made the best of it. It's been a joy to see you every day, sharing our thoughts and feelings on everything we could dream up. My days are just not going to be the same without you!
I?m really going to miss you heaps and heaps, I?ll stay in touch no doubt so we can keep track on what we are both up to. Thank you for just being you, your very special, take care little monkey? love you loads ?lil bro xoxo
Every Piece Has A Puzzle

Went out to the PrintWorks tonight with Kully for a bite to eat and to watch Saw. If you get chance go see this film, I thought it was one of the better films I've watched recently. It's a whole lot better than that bilge Alien Vs Predator I watched on Friday.
It'll keep you hooked from start to finish and the twist in the plot will have you kicking yourself!
