Baby Photo Extravaganza
Thursday 28th Oct 2004 - Posted By: Ste Riley at 11:16PM
My aunty was sorting through some of her old stuff today and found a bunch of old photos of me and my bro's from way back. She's kindly scanned a handful and emailed them to me, I thought I'd post them here to share with the rest of you since a couple made me laugh; especially the convict 'wanted' photo.
I think the age range spans mostly between the ages of 2 or 3 up to when I was about 8 or 9 years old.
Living the Dream
Monday 25th Oct 2004 - Posted By: Ste Riley at 10:50PM
Day off from work today, was joined by Will & Russ for a grand day out on the lash. Sunk our first pint at 12.30PM and at 2 o'clock I get a call from the agency; I've only gone and got the CFS job I went for on Friday! What good timing it was to find that out, time to crack out the real booze. 1 bottle of wine, 2 bottles of champagne and £120 lighter we was in the celebratory spirit.
Spent most of the afternoon in the swanky new Label bar on Deansgate before getting back to our roots to visit the chippy for some meat pie, chips n gravy.
A good day out had by all, a spiffing climax to the weekend
Man Utd 2 Arsenal 0
Sunday 24th Oct 2004 - Posted By: Ste Riley at 04:05PM
IN YOUR FACE ARSENAL! What a day, went out to town for about 2PM and headed for The Sports Cafe on Quay Street with its 2 Super Screens, 9 Plasma Screens and 150 TV's we was bound to get a good view of the game.
After a thrilling 73 minutes Nistelrooy scored a revenge penalty, shame Keown wasn't around to jump around like some demented goon(er). Rooney then sealed the match with a crackin assist from Smith on the 90th minute. So close yet so far for the arrogant Arsenal and their 50th game unbeaten... gutted.
Of course it was time to celebrate the glorious victory and get well and truly trollied in town, see photos. I'm off on Monday so the drinkin will continue, hurrah!
Interview Day
Friday 22nd Oct 2004 - Posted By: Ste Riley at 11:30AM
Interview day today at CFS, had to give a presentation on 'Best Practices for Web Site Design' (will post up the slides soon) after an hours interview. I felt ready for both of these and they seemed to go down quite well.
Bad thing is I felt I stuffed the HTML test up, doh! I was expecting this to be a breeze but I'd forgotten how to format tables properly with CSS, shame on me. I did the best of a bad job with some HTML and left it as that.
My brain was puddled a bit after that, I ended up going the chippy and leaving my change (over £6) at the till. Thankfully the guy in the shop chased me down the street with it. I blame Kully for distracting me with the blue plastic forks! :0P
Should hear of my fate come Wednesday
Ronald McDonald
Wednesday 20th Oct 2004 - Posted By: Ste Riley at 05:16PM
Check this out peeps, I got the bus home tonight with Ronald McDonald no less. This guy sat in front of me on the bus and his hair made me laugh so much I thought I'd share it with you all.
It really is a massive ginger mop and not a joke wig would you believe. Bad thing was, the big curly mess stunk as well, shame on you ginger boy.
Parental Update
Tuesday 19th Oct 2004 - Posted By: Ste Riley at 10:24PM
Hello Dad, I've covered the big hole in the roof with a sheet of wood for now that'll keep most of the rain out the garage anyway.
Did you experience any red neck contact Deliverance style while rafting down the Colorado river?
My interview is this coming Friday, I am preparing a presentation for it at the moment on 'Best Practices for Web Design' shouldn't be too hard to present. Need urgent instruction on how to tie a Windsor knot by the way!
Magical Trevor
Tuesday 19th Oct 2004 - Posted By: Ste Riley at 10:06PM
"Everyone loves Magical Trevor, coz the tricks that he does are ever so clever". I've had this song going on in my head all day its so funky, you need to have a look for yourself and sing along too. "yeah yeah yeah the cow is back, yeah yeah yeah the cow is back".
Magical Trevor
hello mum & dad
Tuesday 12th Oct 2004 - Posted By: Ste Riley at 06:57PM
I got an email from mammy 'n' daddy today, my dad attempted to post in the shoutbox but ran out of space. In response to the mail:
"Everything is fine here at the moment, we are managing to look after ourselves. I've not killed Richard yet, but he's come close to it, he lives like a pig!
The weather here has been fairly poor, it's rained most of the time.
If you want to email me again, you can click here and email me directly, just fill out the form."
Interviews Imminent
Tuesday 12th Oct 2004 - Posted By: Ste Riley at 06:35PM
Had a call from the agency today to say I have an interview next Friday, however its going to last 2 and a half hours!
Apparently there will be a HTML test, an hours interview, a 10 minute presentation and some kind of personality test as well as other things. Sounds like it should be good fun; I've had an interview like this in the past but that one lasted for most of the day.
Fingers crossed, let's see how it goes.
Idiot on the roof
Monday 11th Oct 2004 - Posted By: Ste Riley at 05:39PM
Look what some daft idiot has done to our garage roof! (click the image for larger view) Whoever it was has put two holes in the roof from both feet its seems however you can only see daylight through the one pictured.
Looks like Pappy will have some DIY to do when he's back from his holidays!
On a lighter note I managed to complete 3 miles of running none stop tonight, which is a personal best, so I'm fairly pleased with that.
England 2 Wales 0
Saturday 9th Oct 2004 - Posted By: Ste Riley at 05:55PM
England managed to beat Wales 2 goals to 0 and I was there to see it all! Police presence in Manchester and around the stadium was the most I've seen for a football match in a long while. Everything seemed to pass fairly quietly and I didn't see any scrapping in the streets (sadly) :P
Anyway the opening goal came within 4 minutes a cracking shot from outside the box from Frank Lampard that took a deflection from Michael Owen's foot and into the back of the net. On the 76th minute Beckham scored a brilliant goal from a dipping shot into the top corner of the net to finish the game off.
You can see a couple of the photos I took from the stadium by clicking on the thumbnail above. However the quality is fairly crappy but thats down to my phone.
Headed into town after that and spent the rest of the night in Yates, when it got a little hairy when some trouble started and the police made the bouncers close the doors. A couple of pints later and a skin full of double vodka and Red Bull and it was time to go home. Azerbaijan here we come!
England v Wales
Tuesday 5th Oct 2004 - Posted By: Ste Riley at 09:40AM
I've got tickets for this weekends big match at Old Trafford, looking forward to it. Hopefully we'll stuff the Welsh and then hopefully crush Azerbaijan within the week. I just hope that David James isnt playing again, he really does suck.
I wonder if young Rooney can score his England hat-trick this weekend?
home alone
Saturday 2nd Oct 2004 - Posted By: Ste Riley at 10:35AM
My mum and dad have gone away for 3 weeks to America so my brother and myself have been left to fend for ourselves.
Went out last night to Oldham which was pretty boring, was quite an uneventful night. I was even to tired to dance the funky chicken around the club my usual favourite.
